The Pflugerville Police Department is looking for motivated, professionals who want to be active members of a growing Department. PPD has employment opportunities in a variety of positions including Commissioned and Non-Commissioned (civilian), and the Department is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

    Sworn employees will complete a Field Training Program, a Probation Period and must serve at least two (2) years as a Senior Officer before becoming eligible for a variety of career opportunities including one of the following:
  • Criminal Investigations
  • Community Services
  • Commercial Vehicle Enforcement
  • Narcotics
  • K9 Unit
  • Motor Unit
  • Professional Standards Division
  • Training/Recruitment
  • Field Training Officer
  • Honor Guard
  • Entry Team
  • Bike Patrol
  • Crisis Intervention Team (CIT)
  • Specialized Response Team (SRT)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 21 years of age on the date of hire
  • High School graduate or High School Equivalency Certificate
  • Licensed Peace Officer or within 60 days of graduation from an approved Peace Officer Academy
  • Have a valid Texas Driver License (at the date of hire)
  • Citizen of the United States by birth or naturalization
  • Able to read, write and speak English language
  • Must be of a good moral character
  • Not prohibited by State or Federal law from possessing a firearm or ammunition
  • Pass written exam with minimum score of 70
  • Pass the required physical ability course
  • Pass background investigation
  • Pass Oral Interview Board
  • Successfully complete a post-job psychological exam and medical exam
