Pflugerville Police reward Cool Moves through August 31

Post Date:07/02/2020 3:01 PM

The Pflugerville Police Department’s Cool Moves program is returning this summer to reward children for being safe. While these interactions are fun, they’re also important safety lessons, and Pflugerville police officers are working to participate in this program safely by wearing masks and social distancing.

Through August 31, Pflugerville police officers will be on the lookout for children showing “Cool Moves,” including looking both ways before crossing the street, wearing a helmet while riding a bike or skateboard, using hand signals while riding a bike and using crosswalks.

Children practicing these safe behaviors will receive a ticket from a police officer. These tickets reward them with a free ice cream cone from participating partners. This year the program is supported with free ice cream cones from Cece’s Froyo, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, Andy’s Frozen Custard and Dairy Queen.

Each summer Pflugerville Officers give out over 500 tickets for free ice cream to safety-conscious children. For more information visit pflugervilletx.gov/coolmoves.
