Pflugerville Police officer recognized by 100 Club of Central Texas for heroism
On Thursday, May 14, the Pflugerville Police Department presented Corporal Kyle Dimmitt with his Guardian Angel Award from the 100 Club of Central Texas.
Corporal Dimmitt received this award for his outstanding actions when he stopped to check on a vehicle on the side of the road and found a citizen in emotional distress trying to contact a mental health counselor. Instead of driving away, Corporal Dimmitt sat and talked with the man until he had calmed down. For these actions, Corporal Dimmitt is truly deserving of recognition as a Guardian Angel.
Last week, the 100 Club of Central Texas recognized Corporal Dimmitt as the first of seven officers recognized with this honor on their social media.
The 100 Club of Central Texas is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial and emotional assistance to the families of first responders killed or critically injured in the line of duty. The club funds grants, scholarships and other programs that give much needed assistance.
